It Stinks

Mom was right!!!  This growing old stuff really isn't so much fun.  Not just for myself, but it really really stinks to see all of my friends going through the physical deterioration of aging and the sickness and ailments that come with it.  I don't remember the name of the movie, maybe Billy Button?  Anyway, wouldn't it almost be better to be born old and then get younger and stronger?  Yea at the end it would be sad when you knew that you were growing younger but dying would be so much easier don't you think?  All through life you would look forward to being younger, stronger, and less sick.  Just saying.

Why

I wonder why I am still up.  I am tired and yet there is something in me that likes to stay up late.  I never used to be this way, at 10 I was more then ready for bed.  Lately, I like being up late but I have to get up early, and then I am dragging.  But if I go to bed early, I lay there and don't get to sleep and the longer I lay there and not getting to sleep the more worked up I get and the harder it is for me to get to sleep.  I do hope that retirement is in the cards for me in the not to distant future.  But reading the report today that Social Security is going to be broke by 2033 and maybe medicare before then, well,, wonder if I will ever be able to retire!!

Well I am going to go to bed and try to go to sleep.  Good night.

Even if you dont

Stop searching for a faith that will help keep you from the fire, and start embracing the God who is with you in the fire.  Even if you "don't" answer the prayer I am praying, I will still trust you.

Nominated for best email of the year

From a public school teacher:

After being interviewed by the school administration, the prospective teacher said:

'Let me see if I've got this right.

'You want me to go into that room with all those kids, correct their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs of abuse, monitor their dress habits, censor their T-shirt messages, and instill in them a love for learning.

'You want me to check their backpacks for weapons, wage war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, and raise their sense of self esteem and personal pride.

'You want me to teach them patriotism and good citizenship, sportsmanship and fair play, and how to register to vote, balance a checkbook, and apply for a job.

'You want me to check their heads for lice, recognize signs of antisocial behavior, and make sure that they all pass the final exams.

'You also want me to provide them with an equal education regardless of their handicaps, and communicate regularly with their parents in English, Spanish or any other language, by letter, telephone, newsletter, and report card.

'You want me to do all this with a piece of chalk, a blackboard, a bulletin board, a few books, a big smile, and a starting salary that qualifies me for food stamps.

'You want me to do all this, pay me less, and then you tell me.......

I CAN'T PRAY?
