This economy

It is a frightening time to be living. How I wish we could go back to the 50's and early 60's before the world went nuts. But, that is impossible, so we have to live with what we have made.
Oh I think that I will leave this world before things get really nuts, and especially since the new healthcare may decide that anyone over the age of 62 who does not actively contribute to the economy will have to be the last in line for healthcare. But even if that does not happen, I suppose I will be gone in the next 20 years or so and I don't think the US will be totally gone down the crapper by then. But I do feel so so sooooooo much for my kids and grand kids that will be living in this land that was once so proud and free. They are going to be burdened with so much debt that it is inevitable unless we tighten our belts and bite the bullet and take back our country and get out from under that burden, it really makes us stand in the shadow of Greece. We are just a breath away from where Greece is today. I don't get it, I really don't. Why do people want to be in bondage when they can be free? Haven't they learned from history that when the government promises to take care of all their needs that they are in prison. They are at the mercy of every mad politician there is out there. And there are those that stand there saying,, yes yes,, take care of me... at what cost? Freedom? Do you really want that? It has been creeping in slowly over the past 30 years, lulling us with a little bit here and a little bit there, but this last year, it has been a bold face push for socialism. Wake up American,, Wake up!!!!

Lord help us to wake up.

Personally I think the depression years were far worse than what we are living thru now. Many thought the end of America was on the horizon.

I think the future will be a much wiser generation that will value things more than the last few have.

The world in general is starting to wise up and our whole planet will be much healthier. I think the worst thing is not getting our population under control.

Change takes time and I don't see the gloomy forcast that you do.

I don't think age has as much to do with health care as money. Those that can afford it have it...those barely scraping by dont.

Until society can provide everyone with the same...it will be money or age that gets the best care. I think we will waver back and forth until the financial aspect is taken out of the equation.

I think age will always be a factor.

Right now there are limits of age as to who gets an organ transplant..unless you have the money to buy one. Every society will always have limitations.

I didnt live through the depression, but I know it was a bad time. However, America came out of that STRONG. There are so many nations that are teetering on the verge of bankruptcy. I cant see that as being a good thing.

There are too many people that feel they have a right to something or another. Where did they read that or who told them that? For the US our constitution tells us that we only have the right to PERSUE those things, we didnt have a right to have someone or our government hand them over to us.

I do not begrudge anyone who has money. They made it, or thier parents did. Should it be taken away from them just beause someone in thier family worked hard for it? I dont want my government to come and take what I have to give to someone who has not. I will freely give where I see a need, but I dont want my government determining that they need to take X amount of dollars from me to fund abortions, or give to any other cause I dont beleive in.

I guess it is good there are are some people that can look at this HUGE debt that our country is accumulating and think it is good. However, I for the life of me cannot see it. If you and I made tens of thousands of debt and kept adding to it instead of decreasing it.. well you know where it would end.. bankruptcy. It is simple accounting.

We dont see eye to eye on this issue... but that is OK. I believe we all have a right to expesss and believe what we see fit.

AMEN MAMMA!! On some issues I might be on the liberal side, but fiscal matters and abortion are two I am NOT liberal on!! Some day I'm going to be working hard for my money and I don't want anyone telling me what to spend it on or taking any of it away. I think one problem with America today is that we all want change so fast, we all see things that need fixing but if our contributions don't make a difference right away we give up. It's really sad. Also Americans feel so entitled. Entitled to healthcare, entitled to everything. I think one thing that has gone away since the depression through the 60's is America's hardworking spirit, patriotism and that willingness to chip away slowly but surely until we have something accomplished. I think it definitely has to do with all the new technology but that is just another ball of wax. Anyways, it was great to hear your opinion on this Mamma, finally something political we agree on XD
